We are a sandblasting company based in Boynton Beach. We were contacted by one of Ron Bells supervisors stating that he had an urgent situation where a large amount of roofing glue (approx.150sqft) was spilled by his workers in a homeowners driveway, had dried and that he was not going to get payment for the roof from the homeowner until the driveway was cleaned. Ron's employee advised me that the glue had been down for several days in the summer sun. I conveyed to the employee that we specialize in this gentle application where not to damage the concrete but would remove the glue itself and a light stain would either remain as a shadow for the sun to degrade or we could dig into the cement to remove all of the shadow.
Well as you can imagine no call ever came and no check was mailed. I wanted to leave this review for people who are looking for an honest roofer because Ron Bell is not one. Not only did Ron Bell not return any of my calls, he even failed to let me know in any way what the resolution of the driveway was. For all I know Ron got paid and I'm here holding the bag. A pretty shoddy thing to do to a small business owner that is an owner/ operator trying to pay the bills, stay in business and make sure his guys paychecks don't bounce.
Very professional. Office staff went out of their way to accommodate me, and everyone that came out to my house was extremely knowledgeable. Best part is, they came in lower than my lowest bid, and did such a great job. Highly recommended!!
I personally stopped into his Delray office on several occasions and was finally able to get ahold of him. Ron told me that the homeowner was refusing to pay him a dime and I could have 50% of the bill at the moment but he would contact me when he worked things out with the homeowner.
The next morning we arrived on site, the homeowner was sitting in the driveway with a can of oven cleaner, a wire brush and some household chemicals scrubbing the driveway. The homeowner was upset with the whole ball of wax and was telling my employees he was not paying for his roof. After the homeowner applied chemical to the driveway we left do to liability of damage that we could not be responsible for.
In 2007 after a major storm my roof was contracted for major repair by Andrews Roofing, at a cost of $26000. My contract stated they were to have completely stripped my old roof off and apply a total new roof. Unfortunately Andrew's Roofing repairs was not up to standards, which was confirmed by a roof engineering company. $26000. and 5 yrs later my house had 8 leaks. I called Andrew's Roofing and informed them, but they would not even come out to fix the problem. After making a call to Ron Bell, they immediately came out and found that all the flashing around my house was rotted and had been covered with a paint to appear it was replaced. They quickly replaced the entire flashing before the rain came with several workers.I wasn't able to pay for the entire repair and Ron was very understandable and let me work out a payment plan. I highly recommend Ron Bell and have referred his services to anyone that wants a "top notch" repair.
The day of the job no one from Ron bell was on site nore the homeowner. We removed the glue telling homeowner by phone that a light shadow remained, that we would come back the next day to continue if he felt it was OK to degrade the cement to remove the shadow.
At this point I called Ron Bell roofing and was told by the receptionist he was on the phone. After 3 days of trying to contact Ron I was told by his employees that he is impossible to get ahold of and will always "be on the phone".
